Dress to Express Day

As Brisbane Fashion Festival comes to a close, Suited to Success was proud to celebrate Beyond DV’s Dress to Express Day!

Sadly, many community members in abusive relationships don’t get to choose what they wear. This is one of the most common forms of coercive control.

Today, more than 150 community members walked from King George Square to the upper stage in the Queen Street Mall, dressed in something fabulous that THEY had chosen, in solidarity with DV survivors who are rediscovering their identity and style.

Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner labelled Dress to Express Day “the jewel in the crown of Brisbane Fashion Week” and we could not agree more.

Suited to Success recognises the impact that domestic and family violence has on so many people within our community.
